Michael Keith Ahlgrim, Sr., 59, of Mount Pleasant, NC passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 26, 2019. He was born April 22, 1960 in Hamilton, Ohio to Norman Carl Ahlgrim, Sr. and Berneatha June Williams.

Mike grew up in Lexington, Kentucky where he graduated from Tates Creek High School in 1978. The Governor of Kentucky once bestowed the highest honor of Kentucky Colonel upon Mike. His career later led him to Kannapolis, North Carolina after marrying Robyn Sullivan and having three children.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Norman Sr. He is survived by children: Michael (Taylor) of Casco, Maine, Nicholas (Kathy) of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina and Kelsey (Ian) of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren: Kylee, Channing, and Nicholas Jr. aka Neeko, all of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina; his mother, Bonnie of Nicholasville, Kentucky; and his siblings, Kevin (Teri) of Lancaster, Kentucky and Karen Shelton of Nicholasville, Kentucky. He also leaves behind many other relatives, friends, and co-workers with special acknowledgement of Sheldon Edmonson (Mary Jo) of Troutman, North Carolina.

Mike was a wonderful man with a love for the outdoors. He was hard working and very prideful of that. He was also a very caring man which was reflected in his monthly donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. If Mike was not working, you could find him with his son, Nicholas, on the golf course, fishing at the lake, or hunting on their property. Mike was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

A celebration of his life will be held at 4PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Stanfield, NC. Please contact one of his children or other relatives for additional information. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Mike’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
