Meryl's obituary
Meryl Lanson (Mesnikoff) passed away on February 23, 2022, leaving behind many cherished memories. Born on May 30, 1954, Meryl embraced the joy of the world around her and tried her hardest to make the world a better place.
In the 1980s, she married her beloved husband, Norman Lanson, and together they had a son, Trace, in the 1990s. Meryl was a proud graduate of Samuel J. Tilden Educational Campus in Brooklyn, NY, where she earned her high school diploma. After living in South Florida for many years, Meryl and Norman eventually settled in Melbourne, FL in the 2010s, where she became an active member of the New Shiloh Christian Center.
Meryl was known for her outgoing and relatable personality that made her a valued friend. She enjoyed spending time at local spots such as Green Turtle Market and The Chandlery, and she was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. Meryl found joy in power walking, playing Mahjong, and supporting causes such as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She had a diverse taste in entertainment, with favorite TV shows including Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and King of Queens. Meryl was passionate about music, especially the works of Billy Joel and Elton John, and she often found solace in reading The Bible. Her favorite foods were ice cream and lasagna, and she loved sipping on Diet Coke.
Meryl was predeceased by her husband, Norman Lanson; her mother, Thelma Mesnikoff; father-in-law, Lou Levine; mother-in-law, Esther Ann Levine; and companion dog, Remy. She is survived by her father, Norman Mesnikoff; sister, Marcia DaPonte; son, Trace Lanson; daughter-in-law, Lauren Lanson; and Godchild, Christine Carlile.
Meryl's spirited presence will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
