Merrill Nedrud Obituary

1932 – 2025

Merrill D. Nedrud, a longtime resident of Santa Clarita, CA passed away to the Lord, Friday July 18 , 2025, with his loving family around him. Born February 27, 1932, in Minot, North Dakota, Merrill moved to California in 1955 after being honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. Working at a Santa Monica hospital he met and married the love of his life, Jean Schulte, a nurse from Michigan who caught his eye and heart forever.

Married in 1957, they embodied a life of love, challenges, and most of all, devotion to each other and their family of five children: Judy, Lisa, Marcy, Erik, and Kathleen and eleven grandchildren: Adam, Nicolas, Kristin, Jenna, Sara, Mathew, Lucas, Jillian, Cassandra, Alex, and Ally ~all of whom have his silly humor and love of family running through them. "We will carry his smile, gentle toughness, and tenacity forever."

Sports, billiards, and children were special highlights to his life; as were the tall tales that all who knew him enjoyed. "Little did we know that those tall tales really were true in our hearts and reality. 'God bless you, I love you' his words of love; " Git thin Goil' his words of... well, we still don't know what that meant, but it made us all smile and we all loved it."

Merrill D. Nedrud left a legacy of family first, silly humor, and most of all LOVE. "To the Goil"
