We are horribly saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Merlin Gross at the age of 67. Though unexpected, Merlin died peacefully in his home on July 6th. We are still gathering information and will keep everyone updated when more information is available regarding events and next steps.

Merlin Gross was born on August 18, 1953, to parents Leeroy and Delores (Hayenga) Gross in Sibley, IA, and grew up on the family farm near Little Rock, IA. He spent most of his years working in the field of accounting and property management. Merlin's work brought him to live in many areas around the country including Minnesota, California, Nevada, Hawaii and Arizona. He was very active in his many church communities where he especially enjoyed being on decorating committees and helping to plan meals and community service events.

Merlin is survived by his four children: Barry (Ami) Gross of Rosemount, MN, their children Dawson and Elsa, Jennifer (Brian) Gerdes of Fulda, MN, their children Grace and Gavin, Andrew Gross of Milford, IA, and William (Tori) Gross of Rochester, MN, their children Bennett, Ava, and Myla, as well as his three siblings Mark Gross (Rebecca Whitacre), Kathryn (Brian) Gross-Edelman, and Michael Gross. Merlin is preceded in death by his parents, Leeroy and Delores Gross, and his life partner, Keath Butterworth. Services will be held, but information is still pending.
