Merle Benjamin Simpson, born into this world on January 26, 1956, left this world on August 22, 2023. He was reunited with his mother, Virginia Simpson (1975) and his father, Jerome Simpson (2008), and two siblings, Dorothy Patrick and Leon Simpson. He is also predeceased by several aunts and uncles, and 3 special cousins. He is survived by his step mother, Brendalee Carter, brothers Richard Simpson,  Ken (Stacey) Simpson, Jerry Simpson, Alan Simpson, John Arcadipane and Chuck Simpson, and sisters Mariva (Brad) Blex, Barbara (Ken) Denton, Elaine Bush, Heather (Robert) Harris, and Rebecca (Thomas) Chaplin. Merle is also survived by his cherished Uncle Les Simpson, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, several cousins and his dearest friend, Brian Haskin.

Merle spent many years of his life in the workforce, and for the 20 years that he lived in Florida, he enjoyed eating microwaved dinners for every meal. He had a deep love for his family and rottweilers and spent most of his time reading Louis L'Amour books, watching NCIS or putting together model trucks.

Merle will be dearly loved and missed by his entire family, and all of their fur babies, whom Merle doted on.

Merle will be cremated, and his life will be celebrated when he arrives at his final resting place, with his mama, in Portland, NY.
