Merle “Jean” Dawson, age 78, of Troy, OH passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy, OH. She was born on June 19, 1945 in Tyronza, Arkansas to the late Ray Edward and Mary Cornelia Lowry.

She is survived by her children: Timothy (Lisa) Dawson, Donna (Keith) Dickman; grandchildren: Zachary and Steven Dawson, Chadwick (Sabrina) Dickman, Pam (Blake) Corkern, and Brandy (Justin) Baudoux: great grandson Breyer Dickman; and siblings: Ronnie (Peggy) Lowry, Paula (Larry) Tylisz, Michael Lowry, Gregory (Josie) Lowry, Phyllis (Bert) Howard, and Theresa (Todd) Aiken. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her loving husband: Claude “Butch” Dawson; son: William Steven Neumann; and siblings: Betty Sue, Charles, Jerry and Tommy.

Jean worked in data processing and real estate. She volunteered at her children’s schools, local churches and Hospice of Dayton. Most importantly, Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Troy View Church of God, 1770 N County Rd 25A, Troy, OH. A short service, officiated by Pastor Dan Cain will begin at noon, followed by a gathering of friends and family.
