With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Merle Beatty, a beacon of kindness and compassion. Merle was born on January 16, 1938, and left us on April 19, 2026. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Merle is survived by his beloved wife, Sheree Beatty, his adoring daughter, Melissa Beatty, his grandsons, Jordin Beatty and Julian Broderick, and his granddaughter, Sydney Wurschmidt. Each of them brought a unique joy to Merle’s life, and his love for them shone brightly in each interaction.

A devoted jazz enthusiast, Merle's passion for the genre was infectious. Many have fond memories of him enjoying tunes from his favorite artists. He was also a loyal supporter of the New Orleans Saints, his enthusiasm for the team bringing him great joy and uniting him with fellow fans.
