Meridith Smith, 81, of Timberlane, LA, passed away on April 15, 2024 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Meridith was born in 1942 in Macon, Ga. After graduating from Ballard Hudson High School, she went on to study in the medical field at J.P. Campbell College.

After graduation, she landed her first job as a nursing assistant for Goodridge Hospital, kicking off a wonderful career.

In 1964, she met Jackie Fort, and they wed shortly after, on to have 6 children.

After retiring in 1991, she spent alot of her time tending to her garden. She is survived by Brenda(Ashley) Teresa(Phillip, Latidra) Ronnie(Johnny, Tiffany) Monica(KeAsia, KeAnna) and countless loving relatives.
