Born Sept 23, 1933 in South Omaha to parents Pablo and Juana Navarrette. Growing up in a large family of 10 siblings had its own set of challenges. She met her future husband at Campbell’s Soup Company in downtown Omaha. Married in 1962 to Walter D Renz and having 2 sons; Walter Jr (Lorraine) and Mark (Patricia) completed their family. Most weekends were spent camping with family and many times with sister Saila and Aunt Sadie. She was widowed in 1982 and chose to never remarry. After retiring from Omaha Public Schools she moved to Georgia to be close to her eldest son, Walt and family. Mercy was a strong willed and hard working lady with strength and resilience in everything that she did inspiring everyone that knew her. Mercy passed away peacefully on Jan 4, 2026 in Savannah, Ga surrounded by both sons and family. Preceded in death by her loving husband, brothers: Albert, George, Frank and Sam; Sisters: Delores and Saila. Survived by sons, 2 sisters: Pilar and Jenny, 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Services and burial at Holy Sepulchre cemetery at a date to be determined.
