It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mena McFarland (nee Samples) who left us on the 3rd of December, 2023. Born on the 11th of April, 1990, Mena graced this world with her presence for 33 years, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the fortune of knowing her.

Mena's love for her family was limitless. She leaves behind her treasured mother, Susann Samples, and admired father, Terrence Samples. Mena's spirit will live on in her precious children, daughter Amiyah McFarland and son Demetri McFarland, whom she cherished deeply. Mena also leaves behind her caring siblings, sisters Rose and Shanna Samples, and brother DJ Samples, whose bonds will forever remain unbroken.

A fervent fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Mena would always be found cheering passionately during their matches. She found immense joy and comfort in spending time with her children, which was her favorite recreational activity. Mena was committed to issues related to recovery, constantly working towards making a difference.

Mena's personality was characterized by her intellect and relentless work ethic. Her mantra of "keep trying and never give up" will continue to inspire everyone who held her in their hearts. Mena's life was a testament to her resilience and determination, teaching us invaluable lessons of continuous effort and perseverance.
