Melvin Coots found peace in the kingdom of heaven on November 24, 2020. Born on March 13, 1956, Melvin will be missed by his family and friends who were blessed to have him in their lives. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and Ray Coots, sisters Geraldine, Betty, and five infant siblings; and grandson Colton.

Melvin leaves behind his common-law wife Janie, children: Melvin (Ashley), Terry (Amanda), Tanya (Aaron), Shawna (William), Josh (Stacey), and Krystal (Nathan); ex-wife Debra. His brothers, Ray Coots, Jr., Woody (Sue) Coots, Dana (Tina) Coots, Eugene (Mary) Coots, and Ronnie Coots (Christiane); a sister, Judy (Gary) Jacobs; a brother-in-law, Tim Hasty. Grandchildren; Trayvon, Payton, Ashley, Anastasia, Blane, Kyrin, Kh’yrie, Curtis, Hayle, and Jade Great-Grandchildren; Emlynn, Alexander, and Major. Several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
