It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melvia “Mel” "Maggie & Gram~ Gram" Gross who was better known as Maggie & Gram~ Gram. She was born on the 8th of October, 1962, and peacefully transitioned on the 29th of November, 2024. Mel was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence deeply enriched the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Angel Holcomb, and Cheryl Rucker. She was predeceased by her dear son, Richard “Ricky” Gross who will be waiting for her on the other side. Her favorite foods included Tacos and she loved music in general, finding comfort and joy in a variety of genres. She had a soft spot for the classic show "Hawaii 5-0" and enjoyed playing Candy Crush in her free time.
Mel found peace and happiness in sewing or crafting, a pastime she indulged in when she wanted to calm her mind and create beautiful things. She cherished the memories created at her favorite vacation spot, the beach. Mel was very active and cared deeply about her grandchildren, dedicating much of her time to making their lives better. A lover of the color purple, Mel radiated warmth and kindness.
Mel was best known for her kindness and her love for speaking her mind. She had a gentle soul and cared deeply for others. She staunchly believed that despite one's feelings for someone, if they are in need or need help, you help them. This ethos of unconditional support and kindness defined her life.
Mel's most notable achievements include her dedication to her job and her family. The love and passion she had for her grandchildren stood as a testament to her nurturing spirit. Their devastation at the loss of their beloved 'Gram Gram' is a measure of the significant role she played in their lives.
