Melva's obituary

Our hearts are filled with sadness as we announce the passing of Melva Holloway, who left us peacefully on December 27, 2023. Born on June 15, 1942, Melva lived a full, vibrant life, and her spirit touched all who knew her.

Predeceased by her loving parents, Kenneth and Hazel Coward, Melva is survived by her cherished children: daughter, Toreen Flesher, and son, Troy McHose. Melva’s legacy lives on in her adored grandchildren, Bethany, Caleb, Melanie, and Miriah and Madelynn Flesher as well as James McHose and Brittany Danchilla. As well as her 13 Great Grandchildren.  Her beloved sister, Cindy Thomas, and her brother, James Coward, will remember her always.

A woman of zest and vivacity, Melva was an outgoing and independent personality, known for her stubborn streak that complimented her resilience. She savored the pleasures of life. A fondness for red wine and Chinese food signaled her appreciation for the finer tastes.

As an avid fan of the Saskatchewan Rough Riders, Melva enjoyed tuning in for the games, cheering for her team with unyielding spirit. Artistic by nature, she found joy in painting, and the simple pleasures of taking walks and thrifting. A true lover of the outdoors, Melva's ideal vacation was camping, embraced by the tranquility of nature.

In shades of red—the color she loved, Melva painted her life on her own terms. At the core of her heart and existence was her family, the cause she cared about the most, the reason for her relentless strength and unfaltering love.

Though we part with Melva in physicality, her memory will remain eternally within our hearts, a beacon of strength, love, and unwavering perseverance. We honor her life and her spirit, as we bid farewell to a woman whose light will eternally shine in our memories.
