Melody's obituary

Melody Dawn, A Daughter, Granddaughter, Wife, Mother and Grandma. Melody was born in January of 74 to David and Linda Simmons. Growing up she didn’t have any siblings but if you ask her she would tell you she always had her Jessica. Although growing up she didn’t have any siblings to her surprise at 27 she would gain a little brother.  Melody spent most of her childhood with her Grandma and Grandpa who She loved and adored very much. She never  missed a opportunity to share how much she loved them and how much they loved her. In 1992 she met the man she would soon marry and spend 24 years of her life with and in 93’ they welcomed her first son little did they know throughout the next 10 years they would welcome 4 more children. 3 more girls and another boy. In 2002 she gained her bonus daughter full time. Making them a family of 8. 4 girls and 2 Boys. Being a  mother and caretaker for her family brought her so much joy little did she know she would love being a Grandma even more. She welcomed her first grandchild in 2017 and 7 more sense. She spent the majority of her time being a wife and mom but when she could find the time she loved to be out in the sun and by the water, she enjoyed crafting and loved to do her hair and make up and take pictures.

On Thanksgiving of 2024 she was admitted to the hospital with a cold that quickly turned into pneumonia. As the days went on her lungs weakened and she was put on breathing tube. Her resistance to the tube caused her to have to be sedated. They weren’t able to strengthen her lungs to bring her off the tube. Her heart eventually started to weaken and after she coded for the 3rd time they weren’t able to bring her back. As devistating as it was for her children and family to say good bye to their beloved mother, they have been able to find comfort in knowing her faith and love for her Lord and Savior has given her a very beautiful after life to be reunited with all her loved ones that passed before her and to be reunited with them again one day.
