On Sunday, October 24th, 2021, we lost our beloved sister, mother, daughter and friend to her lifelong battle with addiction.

Melissa was born Melissa Dawn Anderson, on August 14th, 1985 to Ronnie and Jody Anderson at Cottonwood Hospital in Murray, Utah. She joined the family with big brother Jeremy Anderson, and big sisters, Christina Howland and Stephanie Anderson. Ronnie preceded her in death on September 21st, 2004 and Jody preceded her in death in August 23rd, 2013.

She gave birth to son, Matthew Inselsberger on March 28th, 2005 and daughter, Mackenzie Inselsberger, on July 7th, 2009.

She married Nicholas Speirs in 2012. Nicholas was also lost to addiction on August 4th, 2019.

Melissa was a beautiful soul, who loved life and loved her children more than anything. She fought a hard battle against heroin that would have made anyone proud, but sadly, it was just so much stronger than she was.

Melissa is survived by her grandmother, Sandra Kays, Brother, Jeremy Anderson, Sister, Christina Howland, Sister, Stephanie (David) Sala, children, Matthew and Mackenzie, Nieces and Nephews Aunts, Uncles and so many friends.

A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held on Thursday October 28th, 2021 at our Aunt Tammy’s home. All who wish to attend are welcome. Contact Melissa’s sister, Stephanie, at (801) 638-3075 for the exact locations.
