Melissa's obituary

Melissa Ann Slaughter (Ferch), aged 66, of Glendale, AZ, passed away on December 8, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1958, in South Bend, IN and moved to Arizona with her family in 1968. 
Melissa's life was marked by her dedication to her family and friends. Throughout her career, Melissa made significant contributions to the public sector and private enterprise. She honorably served at the Attorney General's office, where her commitment to justice and legal integrity stood out. She left this role to pursue a business venture alongside her husband, Roger. She co-owned and operated Lightning Towing. Additionally, she worked at TTEC in customer service, where she was appreciated for her problem-solving skills and her ability to connect with people.
Melissa's personal life was filled with joy and love. She is survived by her loving husband, Roger; sons, Jason and Justin (wife Caitlin); and her adored grandchildren, Jason (wife Guadalupe), Joshua, Johnathan, Jonah, Keidyn, Kendyl, Paisley, Dailyn, and Beckett. She also leaves behind her sisters, Penny, Barbara, and April. She is preceded in death by father, Donald, mother, Arliss, and brother, Barry.
An avid reader, Melissa found solace and adventure in books, which were her constant companions. She was also renowned for her baking skills, especially her cookies during the holiday season. They never failed to bring warmth and sweetness to any family gathering.
Melissa will be remembered for her unwavering support, her loving nature, and her ability to bring people together. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A service to celebrate Melissa's life will be held at Christ Community Church, 4530 W Thunderbird Rd, Glendale, AZ 85306, on January 25, 2025, at 2 pm.
