Melissa Danielle Myers (Poe), 38, of Lansing, KS, passed away on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at home.

She was born on August 11, 1986, in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Harold and Connie (Lane) Poe. Melissa graduated from Lansing High School in 2005 and later attended Kansas State University and DeVry University.

Melissa was a tender-hearted person who loved her children deeply and cherished time spent with her family. She had a creative spirit and worked as a graphic designer at Caraway Printing in Lansing. She found joy in simple moments—laughing with loved ones, sharing stories, and making memories with those she cared about most.

She is survived by her parents; her children, Troy Schaeffer and Avery Myers; her sister, Debbie Poe (Amy Bond); her grandparents, Dana and Max Morris; her niece, Sarah Guse; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her spouse Andrew Myers, father of Avery and former spouse Todd Schaeffer, father of Troy.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Nadine Lane and Olive and Ruth Poe; her cousin, Sarah Barrette; and her uncles, Brian Cowan and George Wacker

On Friday, February 7, 2025, a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Mt. Muncie Cemetery immediately after the service. Following the burial, the family will host a reception at R.L. Leintz Funeral Home.
