How you can help

My name is Gina Hirsch and my mother Melissa passed away with no life insurance or anything of value. The few items she possessed were that of the sentimental type. We have looked into funeral expenses and decided that it was best to hold a fundraiser to get her a proper memorial service. My mother made it clear that she would like to be cremated in the event of her passing. Being that she has passed away in Des Moines, Iowa, the price of cremation is higher than smaller funeral homes. A majority of family is located around Tulsa Oklahoma while same are in the Des Moines area and even as far as Colorado. We plan to keep the memorial in Des Moines as it makes it easier for other family members to attend. Any amount of donation would help take the burden off our family as we are struggling through these economical hardships. We are planning a celebration of life in the month of June at a location yet to be determined in Des Moines, Iowa. We plan to provide food and drinks as well as a signed attendance book with the option to share your memories and/or any pictures you may have of Melissa. We will be putting together a picture board with tacks available so family and friends can freely add them to the board. If you are able to bring copies of the pictures with maybe an approximate year it was taken and who might be in the picture with her so that family can have them as keepsakes, that would be fantastic.
