Melinda Harvey Yoter died of natural causes on Feb. 25, 2019, in Quitman, Texas, at the age of 59.

She was born on June 26, 1959, in Harford County, Maryland, to Polly Priscilla Lane Dukes and John Gordon Harvey Jr.

Melinda was an opus of love. Whether it was for her children, music, or books, she was never hesitant to close herself from the world and enjoy these moments of hers. Beyond the passion for her children and grandchildren, Melinda enjoyed bootlegged music, indie films, and rare books; she could read a novel faster than most.

Melinda is survived by her husband, Walter Yoter; her children, Colin and Stephanie Townrow, Christopher and Tamara McFarlen, Gregory and April Stout, Michael and Akanksha Stout-Nayyar; her grandchildren, Nevaeh and Josslyn Munoz; her siblings, EvAnn Harvey, Richard and Sandi Harvey, Aaric and Michelle Harvey; and her father, John Gordon Harvey Jr.
