Melinda's obituary

Melinda Ralene Campbell (Patrick, Safick), 67, of Painesville, Ohio, passed away on October 25,2024. Born on July 13, 1957, in Geneva, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Louise Elizabeth (White) Patrick and Carl Clifton Patrick, Sr. Melinda was a proud graduate of Madison High School, Class of 1975, and spent many years as a medical records clerk at Lake West Hospital. She was known for her devotion to friends, her kind spirit, and her unique sense of humor. 

Preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Campbell, Melinda is survived by her son, Joseph C. Safick of Rittman, Ohio, and her two grandsons. She is also survived by her siblings: Cathy Shahan (James) and Cindy Bledsoe (Sean) both of Fort Myers, Florida and Carl Patrick, Jr. (Ronda) of Brunswick, Ohio. 

Melinda will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews: Troy (Lacey) Rains, Travis (Amanda) Rains, Corri (Kevin) Gaynor, Ian Bledsoe, Sarah Patrick, Nathan Shahan, Joy (Derek) Moore, and Holly Safick, as well as her aunts, Darlene (Alan) Miller, Diane (Carl) Jackson, Carole (Jerry) Meier, and Jean (Larry) White, and uncle Arlynn White. 

She will be laid to rest alongside her parents in Laurel Creek Cemetery in Van Buren County, Tennessee. 

Melinda was a woman who loved her family and friends. She cherished life's simple pleasures, including her love of the color purple, her fondness for accessorizing, and her deep affection for her cats.

The family requests that those who wish to honor Melinda's life remember her fondly by sharing a laugh with someone you love.
