Melani's obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Melani Cuevas announces her passing, on March 14, 2020, in Riverside, California, at the age of 56 years. She was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, on February 7, 1964, to Clayton and Ruth Woodington. At an early age she found a love for animals, and a passion for horse back riding. Melani loved to go on trail rides and partake in team penning. She loved nature and outdoors. Melani worked as a waitress for over 10 years, which she enjoyed most for all the people she met and the conversations that were had over cups of coffee. She loved to cook and always envisioned opening her own corner café or kitchen. Melani always had her wits about her and never had a shortage of crude jokes to lighten up anyone’s day. She knew just what to say when times were tough. Melani truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures; soaking up the sun, chatting with family and friends, enjoying great food and listening to music. She was courageous, daring and always willing to try something new. Melani’s family and friends meant the world to her. She was gentle, compassionate and loved fiercely. In 1990 she married Luis Cuevas and started her own family. Together, the two of them raised three amazing men. To Melani they would forever be her boys and she always boasted about how proud she was of them. She never let them forget how much they meant to her. Melani moved to California this past year to be with her second family, the Glatzel’s; she loved them and sunny California. In the last few weeks of her life on earth she was able to achieve a lifelong dream of skydiving with her eldest son. Melani proved time and time again that age is just a number and you can do anything if you just believe in yourself. Melani will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Luis, Thomas (Taylor) and Carlos (Devan). Melani will also be fondly remembered by her granddaughter, Margot Cuevas, by her brother Clayton (Beth) Woodington and brother-in-law Ray Mease, and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Family, friends and others whose lives Melani touched will be invited to a memorial. Due to the current circumstances surrounding our nation, the memorial will be held a later date. The family thanks you for all your support, thoughts and blessings.
