Meja's obituary

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Meja Im Reagan, 78, of Dover, TN, on July 14, 2024. Meja was born January 11, 1946, in Seoul, South Korea. She met and married Thomas Reagan Sr. while he was stationed in the U.S. Army in Seoul, and came to the United States in 1969. They raised their three children, Jayne, Lisa, and Tom Jr. in Bridgeport, CT until 1984, when they moved to Roxbury, CT.

Meja was an avid traveler, who enjoyed sightseeing, and visiting and spending time with her family and friends in South Korea, California, Florida, and Connecticut, among other places. She recently fulfilled a lifelong wish of going to Hawaii. She was always happy to visit the ocean, no matter which continent or coast. One of her children’s fondest memories was a trip to Jeju Island in South Korea, when she woke them up before dawn so they could watch the sun rise on the beach in the Far East. Meja was a nature lover who enjoyed taking walks; stopping often to search for edible plants. In her younger days, she enjoyed painting the birds and flowers she often saw on her walks. She was also an enthusiastic and passionate gardener. Meja was known for her adventurous spirit, courage, boundless energy, stubbornness, strong work ethic, easy-going nature, and love for her family and friends. She loved being a Grandma and adored spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jayne McCarthy and husband, William of Fort Pierce, FL; Lisa Pedersen and longtime partner, Stephen Ongley of Winsted, CT; and her son, Thomas Reagan Jr. and wife, Amanda, of Burbank, CA. She leaves behind eleven grandchildren; Tommy, Ava, Hailey, Mackenzie, Caitlin, Paxton, Stefanie, Jacquie, Tristan, Devin, and Brendan, four great-grandchildren, four nieces, and two nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Thomas Reagan Sr. and her son-in-law, H. William Pedersen Jr.

A graveside funeral service and burial took place on July 14, 2024, in Dover, TN. Those who wish to make a charitable contribution in Meja’s memory may consider a donation to benefit cancer research. To send the family an online condolence, please visit www.EverLoved.com.
