With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Megan Smith, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and aunt. Born on September 11, 1986, Megan departed from this world on January 30, 2024.

Megan leaves behind a cherished network of loving family members. Among them, her dedicated mother, Kim Sopko, and her steadfast father, Tim Sopko. Also carrying on her memory are her adoring sister, Sara Smith, and her precious daughter, Haylee Smith. Megan's loving nature extended to her nieces, Harlee Bigelow, Jaelynn Ackerman, Rilee Sparks, and her nephew, Forrest Sparks. She was preceded in death by her deeply loved sister, Stephanie Smith-Ackerman.

Megan was known for her hard work and commitment to her career. In 2021, she held the position of Regional Operating Partner at Freddy's in Surprise, a role in which she excelled and made a significant impact. However, the year was also marked by personal sadness, as she mourned the loss of a sibling.

The celebration of Megan's life was held on February 10, 2024, at 10:00 PM at Estrella Mountain Regional Park. Well-wishers gathered to remember Megan’s radiant spirit, her love for her family, and her dedication to those she served professionally. It was a fitting tribute to a woman who made a difference in so many lives.
