Mayumi's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, and friend, Mayumi "Mimi" Butler, known to loved ones as Mayumi. Born on June 2, 1976, Mayumi lived a full and inspiring life until her departure on February 24, 2026.
Mayumi was a devoted spouse to Lewis Butler, with whom she entered marital bliss in 1997. Their love story took them to San Diego, CA in 2003 where they built a home and raised their beautiful family. She was an adored mother to four wonderful children; Luciela, Lewesha, Lewis, and Lucas Butler.
Mayumi lived her life with calmness, positivity, and an unproblematic demeanor. Her best lessons were encouraging all to be true to themselves and to always cultivate love for one another, regardless of circumstances. Mayumi was the pillar of her family and her greatest pride lay in watching her children grow. She loved her family fervently and deeply, creating a loving and nurturing environment for them.
Leisure times for Mayumi were filled with the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed Korean BBQ, sipping iced coffee, and playing rounds of Toon Blast. She also took joy in watching YouTube videos and particularly loved listening to music from Joe, Boys II Men, and K-Ci & Jojo. She was known for her preference for the color black, representing her simple yet elegant taste.
The void left by Mayumi is immeasurable. Her unwavering love, her dedication to family, and her calm and positive spirit will forever live in the hearts of her family members. Her legacy is a family that cherishes and remembers the love she gave and the sacrifices she made. To all who knew her, she was a beacon of serenity and positivity.
In lieu of flowers, a fund named "Dialysis & Kidney Transplant Fund" has been set up in Mayumi's honor and contributions are welcomed at https://everloved.com/life-of…. This gesture honors Mayumi's dedication to family and her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity.
We will miss you deeply, Mayumi. We hope your love continues to guide us as we remember your name and cherish your memory forever. Rest in peace, dear Mayumi.
