(02/22/2022) “2’s day” This date is ironic because her favorite game to play was the “Deuces wild” the objective of which is to hit all 2’s.
Maxine was born on March 17th, 1947, to Virgil and Nelda (Chynoweth) Jolley in Tropic Utah.
Maxine Grew up in a large family where she was one of 10 children. (6 boys and 4 girls).
Max as she was often called, loved working on the family farm and playing with her siblings. Max was just as tough as her brothers and adored her sisters.
Maxine was classy, smart, kind, sweet, funny, and very stubborn, she knew how to get what she wanted when she wanted it. She was also the kindest woman many had ever known.
In 1965 she met and married the love of her life, Larry Arthur Rose. The two loved going to Lake Powell with their closest friends, camping anywhere, fishing at Strawberry Reservoir, and any other outdoor activity where the two could be together.
Maxine was a phenomenal bowler and played in many bowling leagues throughout the years. She and Larry owned and operated Rose Interiors in Spanish Fork, Utah. Even after they closed the store, Interior design was a passion that she carried throughout her life.
After many attempts at conceiving their own children with no success, they decided to adopt. First, they adopted a beautiful baby girl from Orange County California who they decided to name Shantell. They were overjoyed at the love they had for her and a few years later decided to expand the family and adopt again. This time they adopted a sweet baby boy who they named Shad Lawrence Rose. Sadly a few short months later Shaddie developed health issues and passed away. The family and especially Maxine were heartbroken.
Max knew she wanted more children and after searching and searching she finally found their brown-eyed girl who they named Shalaine all the way in Peru. Max knew in her heart that this baby belonged in the family where they could love her more than any other could. Over the years Max and Larry would share their home with many foster children as well.
Maxine loved being a mother but when she became a grandmother and great grandmother is when she was the happiest.
