All the memories I have of Max are very vivid and pure. He was my FIRST friend at Pirates of Emerson. He was one of my favorites, not just at pirates, in general. He was genuine, always had a story to make me laugh or smile. He told jokes like no other.

He picked me up when I was drunk in Castro valley and got me home safe one night (last minute call and he was there within 40 minutes ), even though he lived in Fremont. He took me to his comic book shop where we sat and talked for awhile. He drove me to Santa Rosa on an emergency mission and we got in and out and I got a piercing from his favorite tattoo shop, we talked and jammed and laughed the whole way there and back. He drove me home so many times, made sure I was safe. Hung out with me. Offered me a place to sleep. Offered the jacket off his back. Offered the food he had in his car with what little money he had. Always. We shared a love of punk and nerd shit. He was A STAPLE in my life.

I wish we talked more often; but I am grateful for every phone call, drive(no matter how long), the late nights, and every haunt. 

He's burned into my memory. I am so grateful that I got to know a guy like him, and be as close as I was to him. 

Dear Levy Family and Closest Ones,

Max is an awesome guy, seared into my memory. May his memory be for blessing for all of us; carried in our hearts and coming to mind, into the rest of our lives.

Thank you for the opportunity to laugh with you, Max. Thank you for having a cool family, by birth and by choice.
