With heavy hearts, we share the news of the peaceful passing of Mavis Hobbs on July 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mavis, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and dedication to her family and community.
Mavis is survived by her devoted children: sons Kelly Lloyd, Joseph Lloyd, Mark Garrison, and Bobby Garrison, and daughters Shelly Mulford and Shawna Garrison. She was a cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to many, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Mavis served the Anchorage community with distinction as a security guard for the Anchorage School District, where her presence brought safety and warmth to those around her. For 12 years, she also worked as a truck driver, traversing the United States to deliver goods, embodying her unwavering work ethic and commitment to providing for her family.
Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren, sharing stories, laughter, and love. Mavis's kindness, resilience, and generous spirit touched countless lives and will continue to inspire those who knew her.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who mourn this profound loss. Mavis's legacy of love, hard work, and family devotion will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
