Maverick's obituary

Maverick Chandler Westcott passed away on April 14, 2025 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, at the age of 18. Born on June 14, 2006, in McAllen, Texas, Maverick was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend whose vibrant spirit and infectious enthusiasm for life left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, John K. and Rhonda L. (Chandler) Westcott; grandmothers, Cherrie Westcott of Uxbridge, and Marilyn Grotelueschen of Oklahoma City. His siblings, John K. Westcott II of Manchester, NH, Christina D. Westcott of Orlando, FL, Sady G. Westcott, and Savanna L. Westcott, both of Milford, shared in the adventures and dreams that Maverick brought into their lives.

A very social guy, Maverick thrived on the connections he made with others. His friends were his extended family, and he devoted himself to them wholeheartedly. Whether it was through gaming sessions on his beloved Xbox, creating music that expressed his innermost thoughts, or embarking on spontaneous road trips, Maverick's zest for life was contagious. His frequent stops at McDonald's became a cherished ritual, a simple pleasure that he often shared with his companions.

His family remembers Maverick as the embodiment of friendliness, always greeting others with a smile and an open heart. His adventurous nature led him to seek out the thrill of the unknown, and his creativity shone through in every aspect of his life. Maverick's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the courage to embrace life's journey with open arms.

He leaves behind a family that adores him: his parents, siblings, and grandmothers, as well as his aunts and uncles, Eric & Jazmin Westcott of Canton, Jodie & Mark Moeller of Ft. Worth, Texas, Missy & Bruce Beall of Waco, Texas, and Jeff & Robin Summerford of Oklahoma City.. His cousins, Kate Burman and her husband Matt of Stow, Ryleigh, Myles,Jen, Kyle, Peyton, Lyndsey, Alyssa, Trevyn, Greyson, Orrin, Brian, Isabella, Eric, Luke and niece Zahiya Abuhussein, will hold onto the memories of Maverick's boundless energy and the light he brought into their lives.

His spirit, a blend of friendliness, adventure, and creativity, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Maverick's story is not one of sorrow, but a celebration of a life that, though short, never stopped trying and touched the hearts of many.

Visiting hours were held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 4 - 7 PM in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge, MA.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11 AM in Valley Chapel, 14 Hunter Road, Uxbridge, MA.
