Maurice's obituary
It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of Maurice "Poo" Franklin, fondly known as Poo to many, who departed this life on January 12, 2026. Born on August 18, 1967, Maurice was a beacon of warmth, generosity, and boundless love.
Maurice's contagious humor and tenacious spirit will forever be cherished by his loving spouse, Zoey Franklin, his doting children, Michael and Chanel Franklin, and his supportive sisters, Candice Robinson and Tamara Jackson. His mother, Mildred Franklin, predeceased him.
A lover of Soul Food and a fan of Sports, Maurice found joy in the simple things. His taste in music leaned towards R&B while crime shows kept him glued to the television. An ardent supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, Maurice also found delight in spending time with his family and friends. He was a cross-country enthusiast and enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii.
Having a deep adoration for blue, the color of tranquility, Maurice embodied this calmness in his life. He was extremely loving and caring towards not only his family and friends but also towards animals. His generous spirit often found him advocating for the ASPCA.
Maurice's legacy will be one of kindness and generosity, a characteristic he applied to every aspect of his life. His resilience led him to great heights, and his memory will serve as an enduring source of inspiration for those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Maurice's favorite charity, the Best Friends Animal Society.
A man of many virtues, Maurice was a shining example of perseverance and affection. He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
