With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, Maurice, at the age of 89, on April 23, 2026. He was the cherished husband of the late Florence Dorion (née Vaillancourt).

Maurice was a loving and devoted father to Céline, Sandra, Luc, Roch (Connie), Charmaine (Deryl), and Christine. He was the dear son of the late Lauréat and Maria (née Kingsbury), and the beloved brother of the late Léo, Lolo, Robert, Claudette, Jacqueline, and Gaston.

He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Shaun, Daniel, the late André, Marc, Philippe, Nicholas, Melanie, Isabelle, Ryan, Corey, Brandon, Devan and Olivia, as well as his great-grandchildren Rebecca, Alexa, Elizabeth, Mila, Gabriel and Liliana.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Hospice Care Ottawa for their exceptional care and support. Special thanks are also extended to Dr. Rioux, Dr. Plantive & Dr. Vincent for their kindness, dedication, and attentive care.

A service will be held at Hope Cemetery, 4660 Bank Street, on May 5th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maurice’s memory to Hospice Care Ottawa - La Maison de l’Est or the Ottawa Humane Society.
