Maureen's obituary

In Loving Memory of Maureen Saldate Rosales, Beloved Daughter and Sister

With broken hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our cherished Maureen, who departed from this world on March 10, 2024 in her home at the age of 55.

Born on January 5, 1969 in Mesa, AZ, Maureen graced the world with her presence, bringing joy and warmth into the lives of her family. She was a loving daughter, sister, nina, aunt, and friend and a compassionate soul whose kindness knew no bounds.

She found love through her long-time friend, Carmina, in Larry Rosales. She adored him before he finally asked her out. They married in May of 2000. Tragically widowed four years ago, Maureen faced life's challenges with remarkable courage and resilience. Despite her own grief, she remained a source of solace and comfort to those around her, embodying the true essence of selflessness and compassion.

She loved wining, dining and traveling (recently taking a cruise and visiting Hawaii) but her love for her family was immeasurable. Ever present for her mom, rarely a day went by when they didn't spend time together.  A constant for her sister, she was the uplifting voice that was needed in moments of sadness and the first person she'd reach out to share great news. Truly the best nina and aunt, she loved all of her nieces and nephews, their partners and children; doing all she could to bring them together (even across states lines) as often as possible.

A proud member of the team at Southern California Edison, she worked her way up from the call center to QA/Process Quality Advisor working and networking and nurturing long lasting friendships over her 20 year career with the company.

Her presence, her love, her laugh, her being will be so deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Maureen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to inspire and uplift others. She is survived by her mother and step-father Angie and Steve Ely; her father and step-mother Conrad and Mercy Esparza; her sister Donna Prieto; her half brother Rey Esparza, her step-sister Shyanne Lanning, step-brother James Ely, her godchildren: Clea Nabozny, Daniella Prieto and Mario Prieto; her nieces and nephews Raquel Guzman, Manuel Moreno, Angie Peres, Steven Ruelas; and 2 step-grand children.

A rosary for Maureen will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 6:30 pm and a mass will take place on Wednesday, April 3 at 10:30 am at her parish, Saint Irenaeus Catholic Church, 5201 Evergreen Ave, Cypress, CA 90630. A reception will follow at the Velvet Rose, 300 S. Flower St, Orange, CA 92868.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the HOPE Ministry at Saint Irenaeus 714-826-0760, the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.

Rest in peace, dear Maureen. You will forever remain in our hearts, and your love will continue to guide us through the days ahead. Until we meet again, may you find eternal peace in the arms of the angels.
