Maureen's obituary

Maureen “Moe” Susan (Quinn) O’Dowd, age 59, of Blackstone, Ma, formerly of Uxbridge and Millis passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2022, at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 11, 1963 in Natick, Ma, and is daughter of the late Robert H. Quinn and Jean M. (Curley) Quinn. Maureen graduated in 1981 from Tri-County Regional High School but also attended Millis High School and was a member of the Drum & Bugle Corp and Sharpshooters. She graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute in 2011 with her daughter Shawna and pursued a career as PCA, in which she was dedicated to each of her clients and treated them as her own loved ones. Her favorite hobbies included spending time with her children, grandcats and grandpups; watching romantic comedies and cheesy Hallmark Christmas movies; camping in New Hampshire; shopping at the Christmas Tree Shops and Burlington Coat Factory; over-decorating and over-buying gifts for the holidays; cooking for others, especially her World Famous potato salad; and listening to 70’s and 80’s music. Maureen was a selfless woman with a beautiful soul, devoting her life to her four children entirely after her husband passed away in 2002. She was nicknamed “Momma Moe” by her children’s friends as she was like a second mother to most, opening her heart and home to them. Maureen had an infectious laugh with the greatest sense of humor. She was a huge animal lover, often braking for squirrels, chipmunks, and turtles. She is survived by her sons, Joshua M. O’Dowd and her “Bubba” Ryan W. O’Dowd; two daughters, Shawna M. O’Dowd and Alanna J. O’Dowd; a daughter-in-law Molly J. Cox; three brothers and three sisters; several brother and sister-in laws and countless nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Maureen is preceded in death by the love of her life and husband, David W. O’Dowd, and a brother, Michael P. Quinn. The passing of Maureen is a devastating loss to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, but especially to her children who meant everything to her. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for October 29, 2022 at the VFW in Uxbridge, MA from 12-4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Maureen can also be made to the Best Friends Animal Society, (http://support.bestfriends.or…)
