Mattie Sharber, 71, of Byron, GA, passed away on October 04, 2022 after a long and strong  battle with Pancreatic cancer .

Mattie was born and raised in Tommersville. In 1969, she met Melvin Sharber, and they got married in 1972, going on to have 5 children, Melvin Sharber Jr, Shon Sharber, Steven Sharber, Stephanie Sharber and Latasha Sharber.

When Mattie had her children , she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Mattie was a big help at the church for cooking she was also pure hearted always there for family and friends supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was through difficulty or supporting through passion, she made it her mission to improve the lives of others.

Mattie was a passionate cook everybody knew where to cook to get some of the best eats and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found out with her lovely grandkids Radrikka Smith,Anzheyvia Brooks, and Tileya Sharber shopping having a good time. We will miss her greatly. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Hicks & sons Mortuary.
