My siblings and I are deeply saddened to announce that after a period of declining health, our father, Matthis Welch, Sr., passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. While we are wrestling with many emotions, we are happy to know that he is no longer suffering. To some, he was “Uncle Matt,” and to others, he was “MJ.” But to us, he was simply, “dad”.

Thankfully, he had a modest life insurance policy from his 34 years working as an Electronic Technician for the U.S. Postal Service. However, the policy will only offset the cost of burial by a limited amount. As some have expressed a desire to help financially, we have set up this fundraiser to provide an easier way to make a contribution with accountability. Any money donated will be used to cover secondary expenses associated with funeral services, burial, and provide meals for the family during this time.
