Matthew's obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Matthew "Matt" Swiden on January 6th, 2025. Born on August 1, 1997, Matthew left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate to have known him.

Matthew was a man of considerable talents, his many accomplishments a testament to his dedication and vigor. Among his most cherished achievements was obtaining top security clearance in the U.S. Navy. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he moved to Colorado Springs to work for the North American Aerospace Defense Command inside Cheyenne Mountain. This success was not only a reflection of his intelligence but also his diligence and commitment.

He was not just smart but also had a loving and warm personality that could light up any room. His sense of humor was genuinely unique, always sure to bring laughter and joy to those around him. But above all, Matthew embodied kindness throughout his life, making a lasting difference in many people's lives.

One of the greatest lessons Matthew taught us was to always strive to be the best version of ourselves. His spirit will forever serve as a compass guiding us through life. His memory will be cherished in the hearts of those he touched, and his story will continue to inspire.

Matthew is survived by his loving mother, Deanna Howell and sister, Shelby Barnes. To them, he was not just a brother but a constant source of support and love. His absence will be felt deeply, but his spirit will forever be a part of their lives.

While flowers are appreciated, the family has suggested that funds be raised to help bring his remains back home to Michigan from Colorado. Those who wish to contribute can do so at the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of…

Matthew's life was a beacon of kindness, love, and laughter. Though his time with us was short, his impact was immense. He left a legacy of positivity and joy that will forever resonate with those who knew him. He now rests with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.
