We were very sorry to hear of Matthew’s passing…we will always remember him as the bubbly little guy with the best smile running around the church. He always liked my BBQ chicken.  May God Bless the family and hold you near and dear to his Heart during this time in your lives.

Sincerely,

Tom & Janice Pare’

I met Matt for the first time…
I met Matt for the first time on the way up north for a Williams lake church summer trip, in 2012 or 2013. I couldn’t believe how funny and quick he was. He had us laughing 24/7. We still quote some of his silly one-liners to this day. I adored Matt. One of my favorite memories with him, was one day Matt and I decided lunch at school wasn’t to our liking, so we went to get Panera instead. Somewhere along the way to the one on M59, Matt said something so out of pocket but so perfectly timed, I ended up having to pull over because I was laughing so hard.  Matt and I also shared a birthday. here’s a photo at Pontiac Lake beach, on one of those August firsts some years ago. I feel so lucky to be able to relive some of these memories while looking back on those years. He was and will always be a treasured part of my youth. Thank you Matt for being a friend, and for all of the laughs and smiles. You will always be so close to my heart.

We are so sorry to hear of Matt's passing. We knew Matt and his lovely family when they had attended Williams lake church. We send prayers of comfort for Deanna and Shelby and their families! From, Mary, Rocky, Amanda, Jason, and Christine Kauppila
Hopefully, your family can bury you somewhere really nice. I appreciate the good times we had. It’s crazy to know you’re dead. It really is. I’ve been trying to piece it together all week. Rest in peace, brother. I’ll always remember you.

Matt was an excellent member of my Mountain Comm Team Message Delivery Center (MDC) workforce, always reliable and dedicated to our mission. I remember him talking kindly of his family and it was a real pleasure to finally meet them, though I sincerely wish it had been under better circumstances. We here at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station are more like family than business partners and the loss of Matt is like losing a cherished loved one. He will be greatly missed. May the Messiah grant peace and hope in this time of intense sorrow:"Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed" (1Cor 15:51-52 KJV).

Matthew and his friends.
I'm sorry for your loss. Matt was a great guy with an awesome sense of humor. I only knew him for a few years but he always had a light that made everyone around him better.

Matt and I went to the same highschool together. He was someone that could instantly make your day better. He was always trying to make people laugh or smile. I’m happy that I was able to call him a friend and very thankful for all the memories I have with him.

Prayers to Matt’s family and friends

Matt's smile, wit and care was something that I always looked forward too and had brought much joy to my teen years. Matt was my first innocent romantic relationship, I adored him but even more so he was an amazing loyal friend that I wish I had kept in touch with more through my adult years.

My prayers go out to Matts family and closest friends.

I remember freshman year is when i met Matt. we had a math class together. He was kind , funny and very smart. praying for his family 🩷

The amount of fun memories I have with Matthew as a young kid are vast. He was hilarious, fearless, smart, and cunning. From being able to build a laptop, to effortlessly winning games online, to even being a top pick player at recess for football. Matt was talented and could do anything he set his mind to. I will forever value and cherish those memories, with appreciation and gratitude that I had the privelage to be apart of his life. My prayers now go out to the family and friends of Matt, prayers for peace and fellowship. Matthew will be missed by many
my heart is broken to hear about matt’s passing. the kindest, sweetest soul i’ve never known. praying for all of you 😔
Matt and I went to the same church and high school.  I’ll never forget his infectious laugh, our trip to cedar point with our church group where we rode the dragster front row together and a bug smacked him in the face and we couldn’t stop laughing, I’ll remember those hot summer nights hanging out in his basement with David and Donny.  He had the most beautiful soul and always lit up the room. Rest easy old friend.
To the Swiden family: I am so sorry to see Matt pass. We had some times out on the Haviland playground and plenty of laughs growing up through middle and high school together, and it breaks my heart knowing he won't be lighting up faces at our class's ten-year reunion next year. Prayers to you all and all the best moving forward. Rest up, Matt; we'll see you soon. <3
