Matthew R. Schroeder, age 46 passed away at MercyHealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, WI on September 22, 2023. He recently lived in Janesville, WI. He grew up in Crystal Lake, IL and went to Crystal Lake South High School.

Matthew is survived by his older siblings Lori Gonzalez (Efrain) and Jeff Schroeder (Suzann), six nieces and nephews: Mark, Tommy, Tyler, Jake, Brooklyn, Hannah and his Uncle Don Jones (Shirley). He is preceded in death by his mother Joyce Schroeder and his father Roy Schroeder.

Matt’s smile and sense of humor were contagious. He was a warm and loving person. Matt loved to tell funny stories, watch Seinfeld reruns and the Simpsons. He loved dogs and dogs loved him. As a kid, he was naturally athletic. He enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen, cleaning, and was very handy. Matt worked in maintenance at two different resort properties in Lake Geneva, WI.

A Memorial Visitation with Matt’s family will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 11:00 am-12:00 at Windridge Memorial Park Chapel, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd., Cary, IL. A private service will be held immediately following the visitation. Our family thank you for your continued support and prayers as we grieve the loss of our brother, Matthew. We loved Matt with all our hearts and he will forever be missed.
