Matthew's obituary

Matthew Jay Piercy, 67  of Hiram Georgia formerly from Ridgewood New Jersey and Starrucca Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2024. Matthew was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Matthew shared 45 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth Piercy. Together, they built a loving family and raised four children: Jessica Bihari, Caitlin Smith & Andrew, Natalie Gass & David, and Harrison Piercy. His legacy continues through his ten cherished grandchildren, Caleb, Evangeline, Gabe, Claire, Oliver, Henry, Isaac, Max, Adelaide and Felix.

He also leaves behind his sisters Cathy DeFeo, Sharon Piercy and brothers Frank Piercy and Christopher Piercy & Michaela. And niece Tisha Taylor. His Sister-in-law Theresa Cooper & Rick and two Brother-in-laws Arthur Vanore & Barbra and Joesph Vanore. And nieces Emelia & Shaina Cooper.

Matthew spent the last 43 years in the wonderful world of packaging machinery.

Matthew possessed immense talents in engineering and design. He was a tremendous storyteller, known for his humor and quick wit. As the most loving husband and father, he also stood out for his integrity and strong belief in second chances. He truly was a jack of all trades constantly creating, improving, and restoring to make the world a better place. Matthew was a generous man who consistently went above and beyond to help others.

He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond A. Piercy, and Shirley M. Brown Piercy.

We take comfort in knowing that Matthew is now at peace, resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts. And one day we will be reunited!
