Matthew's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Matthew Franklin Oswalt, who left this world too soon on May 4, 2025, at the age of 35. Matthew was a devoted husband, loving son, caring brother, and cherished friend. Though his time with us was far too short, his love, kindness, and light will remain with us always.
Born on March 15, 1990, Matthew began his education at Friedens Lutheran School. He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 2008, and pursued higher education at Hawaii Pacific University before earning his degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
In 2015, Matthew began his career with Go Global Realty, where he met and fell in love with his beautiful wife, Jannette. Through his work, Matthew formed many meaningful relationships, and he took pride in helping others find their homes and build their futures.
Matthew had a passion for life’s simple pleasures – he enjoyed hiking, eating pizza, and traveling. Most of all, he loved spending quality time creating memories with his family and dogs. He leaves behind a profound absence in the hearts of those who knew and loved him best.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Donald and Sandra Oswalt; his sister, Amanda Henning (Jonathan); and nephews Phillip and Callen. He also leaves behind extended family, friends, and colleagues who will carry his memory on with love and gratitude.
The family will have a private celebration of life on May 13, 2025. His ashes will be scattered at a later time in one of his favorite places to hike. We ask you to remember Matthew in your hearts and keep him in your prayers—that he may be at peace in a better place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to his family during this difficult time are kindly appreciated.
