Matthew's obituary

Matthew Paul Nedorostek, 65 years young, of Burlington, CT and Westfield, MA, passed tragically on Friday, January 24th. He grew up in Burlington and had lived the majority of his life in Westfield. He was employed at Chicopee Concrete for the past 34 years and enjoyed living with his family as a devoted and loving husband, a sweet and hugging brother, a fun and favorite uncle, and a genuine, forever friend. He loved his “little one” and “peanut” wife, Kim, with all his heart. He was well known for his calm, gentle, kind demeanor that always made everyone smile and just feel better. His words of wisdom seemed to always involve “relax” and “take it easy”. He enjoyed fishing with his lifelong friends and family, going clamming in Rhode Island as the “clam whisperer”, and endlessly researching and learning how to fix just about anything. His humor, wisdom, positivity, encouraging words, sweet smile, warm hugs, gentle and kind heart will be dearly missed.

Matt is survived by his wife, Kim, brother, Mark, and wife, Lorna, his sister, Maggie and husband, Paul, brother, Shawn, and Kim’s family, including her parents, Britt and Terry, siblings, Kent, Christine, and Charlie and their respective families, and many nieces and nephews. Matt was predeceased by his sister, Ann, his mother, Rosalie, his great-nephew, James, and his father, Edward.

The family would like to thank the Ouelette family for their gracious kindness and support. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life and Healing at Shaker Farms Country Club, 866 Shaker Rd., Westfield, MA, on Saturday, February 8, beginning at 11:00 AM. A prayer service will be held and followed by a time to share stories of Matt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Matt’s favorite charities: Wounded Warriors and Springfield Rescue Mission
