Matthew's obituary
He was a retired Staff Sargent and Unit Administrator with the Hawaii National Guard in Kealakekua. He was also a retired non-commissioned officer with 42 years of service; a Vietnam Veteran; a Member of the Vietnam Combat Veterans Association; Veteran of Foreign War’s; Big Island National Guard Retirees and a Life Time member of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States. He was the Associate Advisor for the Holualoa Explorer Post 26, an Eagle Scout, Scoutmaster of Holualoa Boy Scout Troop 26, he was Kona’s first recipient of the Boy Scouts of America district Order of Merit Award. Founder and Advisor of the Holualoa Eagle Scout Service Society, Former President and JCI Senator for Kona Jaycees. He also served as an Usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Michaels Church.
He is survived by; wife Elsie of Kealakekua; Sons, Walter (Mahea) Heneralau of Wai'aha; Wayne Ferreira of Washington; Daughters, Raelynn (Shawn) Miller of NY.; Linnell Heneralau and Joshleen (Jason) Baker both of Kailua-Kona; Valerie Ferreira of Waimea; 10 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces.

Service will be held at St. Michael's Church 75-5769 Ali'i Drive, Kailua Kona, HI 96740, on June 15. Visitations at 9:00am and Service at 10:30am . For more info call St. Michaels Church at (808) 326-7771.
Casual attire and flowers be omitted.
Light refreshments to follow on St. Michaels Lanai until 2:00pm.
