Matthew Ennis Jr., 83, of Martinez, California, passed on October 7, 2022. Matthew (Matt or Mickey) was born on January 25, 1939 in Cincinnati Ohio to Matthew Ennis Sr. and Mary Jane Ennis. The oldest son and brother to David Ennis and Virginia Czerwinski (Ennis), Matt grew up in the Hyde Park neighborhood attending Purcell High School where he thrived socially and athletically, making lifelong friends and meeting the love of his life, April Ennis (Cornella) whom he eventually married October 7, 1961. Matt's athletic talent in high school would grant him an offer from Bear Bryant to play football for the University of Alabama. After school and his service in the Army Reserves, Matt and April welcomed their first daughter, Andrea, while living and working in Cincinnati.  Two years later Matt's work took them to Indianapolis where their second daughter Ashley was born. Finally a job offer took Matt, April and their 2 daughters to the San Francisco Bay Area where their third daughter Alison was born. It was in California that they would settle, build their home, plant roots and raise their daughters in the beautiful countryside of Martinez. After a successful career with Siemens Medical division, Matt ventured into other medical sales roles with his gift for gab and a joke always ready. He was known to bring laughter to whatever setting he found himself - at work, on the golf course or at home.  He always had a great story available for his captive audience. Matt is survived by his wife of 61 years, April Ennis, daughter Andrea Ennis Kirkpatrick (husband Scott & granddaughter Caroline), daughter Ashley Ennis Novelozo (husband Tony & granddaughter Olivia) and daughter Alison Ennis Adamo (husband Hugh & grandchildren Chelsea Matthew and McKenna). Matt is also survived by his brother David Ennis of Cincinnati OH (wife Rita, nieces and nephews Lisa, Tina, Dave and John) and sister Virginia Czerwinski of Bloomfield Hills MI (late husband Bernard, nephew and nieces Jeff, Kristen and Jennifer). Matt will be greatly missed by his loving family and by all who were blessed to know him and call him a friend.
