Obituary

Matthew Douglas Harmon entered into eternal rest on February 27, 2025. He was born on March 21, 1981 in Newberry, SC to Kenneth Able Harmon and Wanda Kay Morris Harmon.

Matthew was a beloved husband, father, sibling, grandson, nephew and friend. He was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and generosity. He was proud of owning his own construction business and being declared a master carpenter. His passions in life were not only his family, but also being an avid golfer and Clemson fan.

Matthew is survived by spouse, Melanie Elizabeth Wright Harmon, son Robert Colie Harmon, (fiancé Madison London), daughters Avery Kay and Deanna Rose Harmon. Extended family members are Marvoureen Morris (maternal grandmother), aunt Sandy Morris Tucker (John), Daniel Harmon (half-brother), sister Heather Harmon Colberg (Thor), nephews Gage, Brock and Thor Colberg, niece Ella Colberg as well as numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father and mother.

A memorial service will be held on March 6, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Charleston, SC, Glenn Street Baptist and Freedom Baptist in Newberry, SC.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Archdale neighbors, Claims Constructions employees, subcontractors associated with Claims, Seaside Restoration, and Dorchester County responders.
