I remember Matt from the one year I got to know him in highschool. Matt was always laughing and cracking jokes. He was fun loving and fun to be around. He never took things too seriously and was a good sport when it came to playing pranks and the usual cutting up in the locker room. He was a very talented wrestler that taught me a thing or two on the mat.
Matt my brother, peace and blessings. We understood each other. Your life is celebrated. Britt wants you to know she enjoyed the conversations. I will play G-Eazy No Limit, just for you. Your flowers are here. I burn this Palo Santo and Sage for you. Peace
I will always remember coaching Matthew during his youth wrestling days with his father. Matthew was a great wrestler and very scrappy. My thoughts and prayers go out to his entire family. RIP young man. Until we meet again. Coach Kelly
Matt's playfulness and generosity of spirit were just two dimensions of a multifacited man, yet those two dimensions were what touched our home in Georgia in lasting ways. I will forever be grateful for how he loved my children so well. When he was with them, he cheered them on as one of their biggest fans. He loved what they loved and encouraged them in meaningful ways. He assured my girls that if they ever needed any sort of protection or defense, he was their man!! Of course, he also loved to poke fun in ways that only he could. He had a gift that we all benefited from! When I think of the many hours that we spent with him, I know we laughed most of them. Matt used his gifts of humor and generosity to spur my kids towards growth; he loved trying to influence them in positive ways as I feel certain that he also benefited from others doing this with him. The world has lost one of its champions but I know he is cheering us on as we continue to run the race set before us. We will always miss you, Matt. Thank you for sharing yourself with us so generously. We are better for having known you and loved you.
Matthew was my friend and like a Godson he coined me in his later life. I will always be blessed to have been in his life for the years he honored me with. His trustworthiness, passionate spirit and presence will be missed beyond my words. I look forward to seeing him again in our forever home.
So very sorry for your loss. Praying for our Lord and Savior to give cover you all with his peace and grace in the coming days and forever. Jan Blair-HMC/ASC
It is surreal you are gone, brother. I will miss your thoughtful, grateful, tender heart. You were never afraid to express love and affection to your family members, and always had a verse ready for us. Always quick to pray about something for us. You changed my life in so many ways. I am glad you are at peace now, and rejoicing with our Father. Until we meet again.
