Matt is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary, his children; Crystal (Rebecca), Matthew Jr., and Annamarie (Andrew), his mother, Margaret, his siblings; Raymond (Tricia) and Brandy (Daniel) . He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Matthew Bell, III, Alexander Bell and Garrett Smith, along with several nieces and nephews. Matt was predeceased by his father, George Bell, Sr., his brothers, Scott and George Jr., his sister-in-law Donna, his brother-from-another-mother Louie, and many other friends and family.

During his life, Matt enjoyed the simple pleasures like tinkering around in the garage, putting up Christmas lights and fishing. He watched a variety of television shows, particularly Ancient Aliens, SpongeBob SquarePants, and anything on The History Channel. His favorite films were Meet The Spartans, Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, and Spaceballs.
Matt's culinary preferences leaned towards homely, comforting meals cooked by his wife and daughter. His vibrant personality was well-matched by his unusual sense of humor, once saying that the best lessons he had to share included 'give to others when you can - even if it's a murderer' (family joke).
Matt was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy. But his greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a wonderful husband and an incredible father, bringing a wealth of joy and happiness to his loved ones.
His legacy will be remembered as one of kindness and generosity. Matt's passing is a significant loss to our family, and he will be greatly missed.
