Mary's obituary
October 12, 1941 - June 7, 2021
Mary is dancing and singing in heaven now with her son Ted. She passed away on June 7, 2021 in Bradenton, Florida with John (her husband) by her side. She was 79 years young.
She was born in Bolivia and came to Palo Alto, CA when she was seven years old. She later attended Palo Alto High School and was a cheerleader. There she met her best friend and love for life, John Finegold. They married on June 23, 1947 and moved to Hawaii. While there, Mary attended and graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Hawaii. They later moved back to California. In January of 1967 Mary and John had their first and only child Ted Finegold.
Mary was a dance teacher and taught for many years in California, Utah and Florida.
Mary was a talented musician, dancer and singer. She loved to sing, dance, play instruments, and write poetry and stories. She even wrote a book “a Cruise to Deception”.
Mary was active everyday playing tennis, swimming, golfing, running, windsurfing, aerobics, and playing pickle ball. She was always up for an adventure. For the last five years she taught line dancing, beginning fitness and sang with The Bay Chorale choir .
She would always make her family and friends smile and laugh. She loved her two grandchildren Jake and Berkeley and enjoyed teaching them and their friends songs and dances.
Mary and John loved to travel which included cruises, club meds, and travels across the U.S. in their van. They were best friends and they played and adventured together all through life.
Her smile, laughter and positive energy will be missed dearly. Now she is our angel above joining with her son, Ted and her Mom and Dad to give positive energy to her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, John Finegold (Bradenton, FL) of 58 years, her daughter in law Lynda Finegold Brine and Lynda’s husband, Colin Brine, grandson, Jake Finegold and granddaughter Berkeley Finegold, all of Wenatchee, Washington.
Mary is preceded in death by her only child, Ted Finegold and her parents, Elena George and Henry George.
She wished to by buried next to her son, Ted in Wenatchee, Washington.
