Marylou Fox (Schantz), 62, of Norristown, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in the comfort of her home, with her daughter.

Marylou spent her entire life in Norristown, where she became known for her big heart and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need, whether family, friends, or even strangers. Her kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Marylou, now at peace, will be reunited with her longtime partner, Dougless Murton, and their beloved daughter, Ashley. She is also welcomed by her parents, Newton Leroy Schantz Jr. and Marylou (Wambold); her brother, Newton Leroy Schantz III; and her nephew and niece, James D’Orazio Sr. and Sara D’Orazio, who all predeceased her.

Marylou was a proud mother to her daughters, Jessica Schantz, Laura Cruz (Oscar), Samantha Fox, and the late Ashley Murton. She cherished her role as a grandmother more than anything, and her grandchildren — Kenneth, Marla, Issabella, Leon, Gabriella, Nathan, David, Scarlett, and Ocsar-larson — were the light of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them.

Family was everything to Marylou. She is survived by two sisters, Donna Greer (Albert) and Sally Horrocks (the late Brian), as well as her nieces, nephews, and their children.

Marylou had a true passion for her Philadelphia Eagles, and her love for the team was another way she shared her vibrant energy with those around her. She also enjoyed sitting outside and drinking coffee with her best friend, Theresa, savoring moments of peace and camaraderie.

Marylou will be remembered for her infectious warmth, her laughter, and the immense love she poured into her family and friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know
