Maryann's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Maryann Hampson, born on August 9, 1962, and who sadly left us on January 9, 2025. Maryann was a pillar of strength, a beacon of joy and laughter, and truly the life of the party for those who were blessed enough to know her.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Hampson, and her mother, Edna “Eddie” Schuler, Maryann is survived by her loving daughters Ashley Peterson and Kaylee Loose, and her son, Robbie Hampson. The joy in Maryann's life was magnified by her adoring granddaughters, Addie, Ayla, and Nova, and her grandson, Axton. Their “Mawmaw” loved them fiercely and will undoubtedly continue to watch over them.
Maryann was a woman of faith, having found God in 2013. Her faith became a central part of her life which was reflected in her selfless deeds. She cared deeply about the Travelers for Jesus movement and put her faith into action by organizing charity events for those less-privileged. Her legacy of giving and living life to the fullest is an inspiration for us all.
A lover of classic rock and soap operas, she found joy in simple pleasures. Card games with the family, shopping for her grandchildren, and spending time with her sisters in Christ were among her favorite pastimes.
Maryann had a spirit that could light up any room. Described by those who knew her as spunky, loving, fun, and the life of the party. She was a fierce defender of those she loved with a strength that shined through til her final breath.
A Viewing for Maryann will be held on January 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at 1745 Craig Rd. In loving memory of her, we gather to share stories, to laugh, to cry, and to remember the beautiful life Maryann lived. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit and memories will live on in all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by so many. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the love, joy, and faith Maryann brought into this world. As we remember her, let us aspire to live as she did, with a heart full of love, a spirit for giving, and a soul on fire for God.
