Mary Wayne "Vicki" Edwards (née Queen) passed away on March 2, 2025, in Camden, South Carolina. Born on June 12, 1937, in Newberry, South Carolina, Mary Wayne lived a life filled with love and devotion to family and animals.

Mary Wayne is mourned by her daughters, Julia Edwards Dake and Paula Edwards, and her son, Michael Alan Edwards. Her grandsons, Clint Howard, Rhett Chasserau, Walter Chasserau, Patrick Lisicki, and Michael Buccella also mourn her passing along with her granddaughters, Catherine Edwards and Lisa Buccella Ciarnelli. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Burwell M. Queen; mother, Mary Alice Jones Queen; and daughter, Viki Lynn Edwards Short. Her former husband and father of her children, Harry L. Edwards, also preceded her passing.

A lifelong animal lover, Mary Wayne had a deep affection for all dogs and cats. Her compassion for animals was evident to those who knew her, and she found great joy in their companionship.

To honor Mary Wayne’s memory in a way that would have brought her happiness, donations may be made to a local animal shelter. Such a gesture would surely have made her smile.
