Our neighborhood moms were my first role models. Mary modeled a love of reading and learning and curiosity. She helped me win a science fair ribbon on my topic of herbs. May she rest in peace. Graces to her family and all who loved her.

As a young mother and novice house wife, I was in awe of this multi-talented, energetic next door neighbor. While we lost touch for some years, I delighted in reconnecting through FB and I enjoyed her sassy posts.

Mary is probably the reason I now have a Maine Coon rescue cat, the love of my life. Thanks Mary for many fond memories.
